Actuarial Services GASB 74/75

The City of Laconia is seeking a qualified actuarial consulting firm to provide comprehensive actuarial and consulting services for the valuation of retiree medical implicit rate subsidies and other post-employment benefit obligations in accordance with GASB Statements 74 and 75. The selected firm will be responsible for preparing an actuarial valuation of the City's liability for post-retirement health and other benefits for both current retirees and potential future retirees. The scope of services includes meeting with City staff, analyzing data, preparing an actuarial valuation, and providing recommendations for managing OPEB liability. • The City has a dependent School District, Water works Department, and Sanitary Sewer Department that operate through enterprise funds. • The City offers health insurance to its retirees, and the selected firm will need to consider this in their valuation. • The City is looking for a firm with experience in providing actuarial and consulting services to municipal government agencies. • The selected firm will need to provide a description of their firm, experience, and approach to the project, as well as a cost proposal and sample agreement.
