Professional Auditing Services

The City of Elgin is seeking a qualified firm of certified public accountants to audit its financial statements for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2026, with the option to audit the four subsequent fiscal years. The selected firm will be required to perform an independent audit in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States and the standards applicable to financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards. The firm will also be required to provide various reports, including a report on the fair presentation of the financial statements, a report on compliance with Public Act 85-1142, and a report on internal control over financial reporting. * The audit will be performed for the City of Elgin's financial statements for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2026. * The selected firm will be required to provide an independent audit in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States. * The firm will be required to provide various reports, including a report on the fair presentation of the financial statements and a report on internal control over financial reporting. * The firm will be required to communicate with the City of Elgin's audit committee and provide any additional information or clarification as requested. * The firm will be required to cooperate with any other auditors in the City's employ or any work associated with the project.
