The City of Marion, NC is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide comprehensive design and engineering services for the de‑commissioning of the high‑hazard Lady Marian Dam. The scope includes project management, grant administration, surveying, hydrologic/hydraulic design, geotechnical and structural investigations, construction‑drawings, permitting, construction‑bidding support, construction administration, and final close‑out documentation. The firm will act as Engineer of Record, delivering all deliverables from preliminary design through the final de‑commissioned state, while coordinating with FEMA, NCDEMLR, and other regulatory agencies.
• Design and engineering of spillway repair/replacement (trenchless technology preferred)
• Preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permit packages
• Management of FEMA and NC dam‑safety grant requirements
• Construction‑bidding assistance, contract document preparation, and bond/insurance coordination
• Construction administration, observation, as‑built drawings, and project close‑out
• Required deliverables: concept schematics, construction drawings, technical specs, cost opinion, permits, bid documents, project manual, and final reports
