Description:
The Dedham‑Westwood Water District is seeking a contractor to design, supply, and install a complete prefabricated concrete booster pump station on Burgess Avenue, including all associated civil, mechanical, and electrical work. The scope covers demolition of the existing facility, site earthwork and foundations, installation of a 12‑inch ductile‑iron water main with fittings and fire hydrants, full instrumentation, wiring, and integration with existing water infrastructure, plus testing, disinfecting, and coordination of shutdowns. This is a single‑item, open market solicitation with electronic bid submission only. • Provide a fully engineered, prefabricated concrete pump station building with pumps, valves, instrumentation, and electrical equipment. • Perform all civil works: earthwork, foundation, demolition of existing structure, and site restoration. • Install a 12‑inch ductile‑iron water main, fire hydrants, gate valves, encasement, backfill, testing, and connection to the existing system. • Coordinate shutdown of the current pump station and ensure seamless transition. • Submit an electronic bid by March 11 2026, 2:00 PM; performance and payment bonds equal to 100 % of the contract price are required.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$1,000,000 – $3,000,000

No contract price is disclosed, but a complete booster pump station replacement—including prefabricated building, 12‑inch water main, demolition, civil works, and full electrical/mechanical integration—typically ranges from $1 million to $3 million for a municipal water utility of this size. The estimate considers material costs (concrete building, pumps, ductile‑iron pipe), labor for civil and mechanical trades, engineering design, bonding requirements, and contingency.
