H-T AE Load Rating

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) - Forest Service is seeking a consultant to perform load rating services for 5 Forest Service road bridges in Nevada. The bridges are located within the Forest Service's Intermountain Region (Region 4) National Forests in Nevada. The consultant will be required to complete load ratings for the bridges using the current edition of the AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation (MBE) and the Load and Resistance Factor Rating methodology outlined in Chapter 6, Part A. The load ratings will include Design Load, AASHTO Legal Loads, Emergency Vehicles, Notional Rating Load, and Permit Load. The consultant will also be required to provide results under Strength I & II and Service III as required. The deliverables will include a draft and final load rating report, which will contain information to clearly identify the bridge, a summary of ratings, calculations supporting the ratings, and any plans, shop drawings, fabricator calculations, and other documents used in the rating. • The consultant will be given electronic or hard copies of the documents listed below. • The consultant shall use the following file naming convention: “YYYYMMDD_BridgeNumber_LoadRating”. • The final submittal shall include all load rating documents in original and PDF formats. • The consultant is responsible for the quality and accuracy of their work. • The Forest Service review of the work at and after the final submittal shall be for overall conformance with the project scope of work, inspection/report criteria, and generally accepted practices of the inspection and report preparation.
