Legal Services (Foreclosure and Eviction)

The Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation (RIHousing) is seeking proposals from qualified law firms to provide legal services for foreclosure and eviction matters. The selected firm will be engaged for a period of three years, with the option to renew. The scope of work includes representation in foreclosure actions, post-foreclosure sale closings, and eviction matters. The firm will be required to provide advice on legislation, changes in law, regulatory, and compliance issues. Key aspects of the job include: • Representation of RIHousing and the Maine State Housing Authority in foreclosure and eviction actions • Performing searches of the PACER and SCRA databases • Obtaining municipal lien certificates and 50-year title searches • Drafting and providing pre-foreclosure sale notices and quitclaim deeds • Monitoring and rendering advice on legislation, changes in law, regulatory, and compliance issues
