The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking information from vendors to provide services under the Louisiana Pregnancy and Baby Care Initiative. The initiative aims to enhance and increase resources that promote childbirth instead of abortion for women facing unplanned pregnancies. The services include counseling or mentoring, referrals, classes, and material items intended to improve the pregnancy or parenting situation. The contractor will be compensated for providing these services, and the contract term and total amount will be determined later. The contractor must verify program eligibility criteria, provide services in accordance with the statement of work, and submit reports on performance measures.
• The contractor must provide counseling or mentoring services, including care coordination for prenatal services and educational materials.
• The contractor must provide referrals to parish and social service programs, child care, transportation, housing, and state and federal benefit programs.
• The contractor must provide classes on life skills, healthy pregnancies, budgeting, parenting, stress management, job training, and job placement.
• The contractor must provide material items, such as car seats, cribs, maternity clothes, infant diapers, and formula, to participants who have attended educational classes or completed applications for social or health services.
• The contractor must submit monthly and quarterly reports on performance measures, including the number of clients served, counseling or mentoring received, classes received, referrals received, and material items distributed.
