Residential Solid Waste and Recyclables Collection and Transportation Services

The City of Derby, Kansas is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide residential solid waste and recyclables collection and transportation services. The successful proposer will be required to provide services including weekly collection of residential refuse and biweekly collection of commingled recyclables, as well as other services such as bulky waste collection and rollout services for disabled or elderly residents. The proposer must also provide a transition plan, including cart delivery timelines, route transition information, and a customer communication plan. • The city has approximately 8,584 residential trash customers and 7,369 recycling customers. • The current contract with Waste Connections of Kansas, Inc. ends on December 31, 2026. • The city is seeking a contract with an initial term of 7 years and the potential for three optional 1-year extensions. • The proposer must provide detailed pricing information, including base rates by cart size and any anticipated fuel adjustment formulas or CPI-based increases. • The proposer must also provide information on their experience, qualifications, and ability to meet the city's requirements.
