The City of Asheville is seeking a qualified vendor to perform a turn‑key up‑fit of two brand‑new 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicles (PPV) for K‑9 patrol use. The contractor must install police‑approved emergency lighting, sirens, communications equipment, camera systems, a K‑9 transport platform, cooling system, graphics, and all associated wiring, brackets, and hardware. Work includes pickup of the unfinished vehicles, complete installation, testing, documentation, and return of the finished vehicles, with a one‑year performance warranty and required insurance coverage. • Install Whelen lighting, siren/control units, and full electrical wiring per city specifications. • Integrate city‑provided radios, cameras, routers, and a Havis console/docking station. • Fit an American Aluminum EZ‑Rider K‑9 platform, Cool‑Guard temperature monitoring, rifle rack, fire extinguisher, and graphics. • Provide labor, transport, weekly photo updates, quality‑assurance checklists, and a one‑year warranty on workmanship and materials.

Based on typical police‑vehicle up‑fit costs, each fully equipped K‑9 Tahoe can range from $30,000 to $60,000 in parts, labor, and warranty coverage. For two vehicles, the total contract value is likely between $60,000 and $120,000. Factors influencing the final amount include the exact lighting and equipment configurations, any additional graphics or customizations, and the vendor’s labor rates.
