Description

The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) is seeking proposals from experienced advertising service providers to manage and grow its interior and exterior transit advertising program. The selected contractor will be responsible for all aspects of the program, including marketing and selling advertising space, managing client relationships, printing and installing ad materials, maintaining ad quality, handling finances, and delivering detailed monthly reporting. The program will include selling advertising opportunities on the interior and exterior of eligible SORTA buses and on designated SORTA bus shelters throughout the transit network. Key responsibilities will include: • Marketing, selling, and securing advertising contracts and providing customer service for the rental spaces on fixed route buses, shelters, and other SORTA assets as may be agreed to. • Maintaining continuous sales efforts within the Greater Cincinnati area conducted by a professional staff of sufficient size to assure adequate service to all advertising clients and potential customers. • Providing all design and output services on behalf of clients as may be agreed upon between the contractor and individual clients. • Assuring that all displays are tasteful and of a high-quality standard regarding artwork, sign construction materials, and ad content. • Obtaining all permissions, consents, license, and releases for advertising copy and materials. • Supplying all materials and services provided under the Contract, whether those materials and services are provided by the contractor, purchased ready-made, or provided by a sub-contractor. The contractor will be required to cover all operating costs and provide advertising revenue to SORTA. The contract will be a revenue-sharing agreement, with the contractor responsible for generating revenue through advertising sales. The contractor will be expected to provide detailed monthly reports, including revenue remittance reports and advertising contracts. Some of the key evaluation criteria for this proposal include: • Revenue • Demonstrated Understanding of SORTA/Metro’s Needs for this Project • Firm and Staffing Qualifications • Pricing Proposal

Budget estimate

$250,000 – $1,400,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be a revenue-sharing model, where the selected contractor will receive a percentage of the revenue generated from advertising sales. The exact budget amount will depend on the terms of the contract and the performance of the contractor. Based on the information provided, it is estimated that the annual revenue from advertising sales could range from $500,000 to $2 million, with the contractor receiving a percentage of this amount, potentially between 50% to 70%. This would translate to an annual budget of $250,000 to $1.4 million. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on various factors such as the effectiveness of the advertising campaign, the number of advertisers, and the pricing of ad space.
