Description

The Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) is seeking a qualified vendor to provide 24 × 7 × 365 fire‑alarm monitoring services for its facilities across the district. The contractor will operate a UL‑listed central monitoring station, receive and process all fire‑life‑safety signals, notify emergency responders and MNPS staff, and maintain accurate logs, audio recordings, and reporting. Service includes ongoing support of existing fire‑alarm panels, communicators, and related equipment, as well as occasional installation of cellular communicators in batch quantities. Compliance with NFPA 72 and applicable local, state, and federal regulations is mandatory, and the contractor must meet insurance, certification, and background‑check requirements. • 24 × 7 monitoring of fire‑alarm, sprinkler, and tamper‑switch signals for an estimated 150 building‑month sites (≈ 150 monthly monitoring units). • Immediate alarm notification, coordination with first‑responders, and detailed incident reporting per MNPS procedures. • Support for existing fire‑alarm infrastructure, including periodic testing, troubleshooting, and occasional installation of dual‑cellular communicators (bundled in orders of ≥ 50). • Required UL‑listed central station, secure communications, audio‑recording capability, and adherence to NFPA 72, FERPA, and other regulatory standards. • Vendor must provide $1 M general, auto, and professional liability coverage, workers’ comp, and meet background‑check and debarment certifications.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

Based on the estimated 150 monthly monitoring units and typical industry rates (approximately $30‑$60 per unit per month), annual monitoring revenue could range from $54,000 to $108,000. Adding occasional installation fees, reporting, and administrative overhead, a five‑year contract could realistically generate between $200,000 and $500,000 in total revenue for the vendor. The wide range reflects uncertainty in unit pricing, escalation percentages, and the volume of installation work that may be ordered.
