Dental and Vision Benefits (Main Project)

The City of Chesapeake is seeking vendors to provide dental and/or vision coverage for its employees, dependents, and pre-Medicare eligible retirees. The proposed effective date for the City of Chesapeake program is January 1, 2027. The City is looking for vendors that can provide coverage options that mirror the current plans. The contract will be for a period of five years with the option for five additional one-year renewals. • The City has approximately 3,462 full-time employees and 400 covered retirees. • The City currently offers two dental plans through Anthem and two vision plans through Davis Vision. • The City is looking for vendors that can provide competitive benefit packages to its employees. • The contract will require the vendor to provide coverage options to eligible employees, dependents, and retirees during the open enrollment period. • The vendor will be paid on a Net 30 basis, with payment made within 30 days after receipt and approval of a properly submitted invoice.
