Invitation for Construction Bid: Florida Avenue Residence Halls - Restroom Reno

Project DescriptionBid Package 2 consists of restroom renovations in Oglesby Hall (Building 0296). The Base Bid includes restroom renovations on Floors 7 through 12 during Summer 2027, together with sixth-floor demolition, abatement and transition work. Additive Alternate No. 1 includes restroom renovations on Floors 1 through 6 during Summer 2028, excluding the sixth-floor demolition, abatement and transition work included in the Base Bid. If accepted by the Owner, the alternate shall be performed under the same contract. Floor 6 shall remain offline during the 202728 academic year. Work includes selective demolition and abatement, conversion of existing multi-user restrooms into multiple single-user toilet and shower rooms, new lavatories, floor leveling, concrete/core work, and structural FRP reinforcing, partitions, ceilings, doors, hardware, finishes, signage, and accessories, and associated plumbing, ventilation, electrical, lighting, fire alarm, and fire protection work. This Project is located at: Oglesby Hall 1005 West College Court Urbana Illinois 61801 University Building No. 0296 A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held in person at Lounge 101, Florida Avenue Residence Halls, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and again at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. All prospective bidders are required to attend one (1) of these two sessions. Bidders shall gather at the FAR main entrance (1001 W. College Court, Urbana, IL 61801) 10 minutes prior to the meeting for check-in and sign-in. Staff will then direct attendees to Lounge 101. As part of the MANDATORY pre-bid conference, a site tour of the male-only residential floors and the basement mechanical areas will take place. Bidders and others may choose to participate virtually via Zoom, however, attending virtually will not fulfill the requirement for attending one of the mandatory pre-bid conferences.
