Asian Regional Office Representative

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is seeking a professional services consultant to provide full-time representation in Asia, focused on recruiting foreign direct investment to Mississippi and promoting the export of Mississippi products to Asia. The consultant will develop knowledge of Mississippi assets, develop a recruitment plan and an export promotion plan, and provide investment leads to the Authority. The consultant will also assist with qualified appointments for annual investment missions to Asia, provide trade promotion assistance, and maintain a database of potential agents, distributors, importers, end-users, and manufacturers. • The consultant must be based in one of the focused countries and be willing to travel to other Asian countries as approved by the Authority. • The consultant will focus on recruiting Asian firms in the automotive, aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing sectors. • The consultant will work on behalf of the Authority and Mississippi businesses to expand market opportunities for the export of Mississippi products and services. • The consultant will provide monthly and annual activity and financial reports to the Authority. • The consultant will perform special projects as assigned by the Authority.
