Liquid Sodium Hypochlorite

The City of Ames is seeking bids from qualified vendors for the supply of liquid sodium hypochlorite for the Water and Pollution Control Department and the Electric Department. The contract period will be from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, with an optional renewal period from July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2028. The estimated amount of liquid sodium hypochlorite required is 88,000 U.S. standard gallons per 12-month period. The successful bidder will be required to provide certification and analytical reports to ensure the product meets the specified requirements. Key aspects of the job include: • Delivery of liquid sodium hypochlorite to the Ames Water Plant and Ames Power Plant • Storage and handling of the product at the facilities • Maintenance of a continuous chain of custody during storage and shipment • Provision of a certificate of analysis with each delivery • Compliance with special security requirements for delivery The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
