Description

The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) 34th Training Support Squadron (TRSS) is soliciting quotes for the procurement of 28 commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) to support cadet warfighter training and operations. The sUAS must meet specific requirements, including autonomous navigation, integrated sensor suite, and security compliance. The contractor must provide a complete kit, including the sUAS airframe, ground controller, batteries, charger, and transport case. The contractor must also provide training for operators and instructors. • The sUAS must have a minimum flight time of 40 minutes per battery and a minimum operational range of 5 miles. • The sUAS must be capable of autonomous flight, 360-degree obstacle avoidance, and return-to-home functionality in GPS-denied/jammed environments. • The sUAS must come with an integrated multi-sensor payload, including a radiometric thermal camera, narrow-angle camera, and wide-angle camera. • The contractor must provide a perpetual, non-transferable software license for the core autonomous flight system, with a minimum of three years of included software maintenance and support.

Budget estimate

$300,000 – $600,000

The budget for this opportunity can be estimated based on the quantity and specifications of the sUAS drones. Assuming an average cost of $10,000 to $20,000 per sUAS drone, the total budget for 28 drones would be approximately $280,000 to $560,000. Additionally, the contractor must provide training and software licenses, which may add to the overall cost. Therefore, the estimated budget range is $300,000 to $600,000. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the sUAS system, the level of training required, and the cost of software licenses.
