Chesapeake Public Schools is seeking a qualified law firm to provide legal services focused on special education law. The district may award separate contracts for distinct legal matters, depending on vendor qualifications and the district’s best interest. The scope includes counsel on compliance, litigation support, policy development, and any other special education related legal issues that arise. • Provide counsel on federal and state special education statutes (IDEA, Section 504, etc.). • Represent the district in administrative hearings, mediations, and litigation as needed. • Advise on policy formulation, procedural compliance, and parental complaints. • Ability to handle separate, specialized legal matters if the district splits the work among multiple vendors.
