Description

The Navajo Nation Department of Fish and Wildlife seeks a qualified vendor to manage three grow‑out ponds (East Avocet, West Avocet, Pond Lake) on NAPI lands for the 2026‑2027 fiscal years. The contract covers April‑October each year and includes aquatic vegetation control, water‑quality monitoring, maintenance of Kasco aeration systems, and provision of two staff for a three‑day harvest assistance in October. Vendors must have at least ten years of lake‑management experience, NM certification for restricted‑use pesticides, and prior work with endangered fish species and Navajo Nation projects. The bid opens March 16 2026 and must be received by March 24 2026 (5 pm MT). Submissions require one original and two copies, W‑9, debarment forms, and optional Navajo Preference designation.

Budget estimate

$300,000 – $700,000

No budget is disclosed. Based on typical costs for two‑year aquatic vegetation control, water‑quality monitoring, aeration system maintenance, and seasonal staff support on three ponds, a reasonable estimate would be roughly $300,000 to $700,000 total for the contract period. Factors influencing the range include pesticide application volume, equipment maintenance needs, travel/logistics to remote Navajo Nation sites, and the premium for compliance with Navajo Preference and tribal regulations.
