Description

The USDA Agricultural Research Service seeks an economically disadvantaged women‑owned small business to provide high‑throughput SNP genotyping services for eastern oyster DNA samples. The contractor will receive batches of 384 samples, genotype them using the Axiom Oystercv 384S array (or equivalent), and deliver PLINK‑formatted genotype files, raw CEL files, and a QC report within 60 days of receipt. The effort spans a base year (Sept 1 2026‑Aug 31 2027) with four optional one‑year extensions, potentially covering up to 4,608 samples per year. The award will be a firm‑fixed‑price, lowest‑price‑technically‑acceptable contract set‑aside for EDWOSBs. • Perform SNP genotyping on 384‑sample batches using the AXIOM OYSTERCV 384S array (GeneTitan or equivalent). • Deliver PLINK text files, raw .cel files, and a QC summary report within 60 days of sample receipt. • Meet quality thresholds: ≥ 97 % SNP call rate per sample and ≥ 95 % overall pass rate; maintain a LIMS for sample tracking.

Budget estimate

$1,200,000 – $3,500,000

No total contract value is disclosed. Assuming a typical SNP genotyping cost of $50‑$150 per sample, 4,608 samples per year would generate $230,000‑$691,000 annually. Over a five‑year base plus optional years, the contract could range from roughly $1.2 million (low end, $50/sample, only base year) to $3.5 million (high end, $150/sample, full five‑year term). Factors influencing the final amount include negotiated per‑sample price, any volume discounts, and the number of optional years exercised.
