REFRESHMENTS (BREAKFAST AND LUNCH) FOR CAREGIVER CONFERENCE (ON 9/30/16 AT IMILOA ASTRONOMY CENTER)

The County of Hawaii issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for refreshments (breakfast and lunch) for a caregiver conference on September 30, 2016, at the Imiloa Astronomy Center in Hilo. The contract was cancelled as the sole bidder was not compliant with Hawaii Compliance Express by the deadline. The conference was expected to have 170 attendees, and the vendor was required to provide muffins, fruit, coffee, juice, and other items for breakfast, as well as a buffet lunch with chicken and pork entrees, green salad, and dessert. The vendor was also required to remove all items used in the service of food and be a certified kitchen food service provider. • The contract was for a one-time event, and the vendor was required to provide all necessary items for the serving and consumption of food. • The County of Hawaii was exempt from federal taxes and the City and County of Honolulu's 0.5% General Excise Tax Surcharge. • The vendor was required to submit a menu with their quote, and the County was open to the vendor's suggestions. • The contract was cancelled, and the RFQ will not be re-quoted.
