This contract is a single‑prime municipal bid for the design‑build installation of a full‑scale two‑wire irrigation system at the Wilmington Golf Course. The work includes supplying and installing HDPE and PVC pipe, sprinkler heads, valves, a central computer‑based controller, low‑voltage wiring, trenching, directional boring, connection to an existing pump station, site restoration, testing, as‑built documentation, and a warranty program. The City requires a minimum 14 % subcontract to certified minority‑owned firms and imposes strict bonding, insurance, and performance timelines (120‑day construction window with $1,000 per day liquidated damages).
• Supply & install ~70,000 lf of 2‑in HDPE pipe, additional larger‑diameter pipe, sprinklers, valves, control hardware, and 2‑wire communication wiring.
• Complete trenching, directional boring, sod management, and restoration of golf‑course features; provide training on HDPE fusion techniques.
• Provide a 1‑year workmanship warranty (5‑year material warranty for HDPE) and meet extensive documentation, insurance, and bonding requirements.
