Concentrated Caustic Soda Solution (WBP 9004)

The City of Boise is seeking a contractor to supply Concentrated Caustic Soda Solution (50% sodium hydroxide) for the Lander Street and West Boise Water Renewal Facilities. The contract is for one year with the option of three annual renewals. The supplier must meet certain specifications, including providing a product with a minimum of 38.40% and a maximum of 41.40% alkalinity as Na2O, and a minimum of 49.50% and a maximum of 51.00% sodium hydroxide as NaOH. The supplier must also provide certificates of analysis and comply with US DOT regulations. The City reserves the right to reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in the bids received. • The contract requires the supplier to deliver the product in bulk, in a tank truck, and to ensure that all shipments comply with US DOT regulations. • The supplier must provide a certificate of analysis for each shipment and must comply with the City's security procedures and requirements for personal protective equipment. • The City reserves the right to subject samples of the product to analysis to determine if it meets the City's specifications. • The supplier must keep sufficient inventory on hand to meet the City's needs and must deliver the product within 5 working days after notice from the City. • The contract includes a public agency clause, which allows other public agencies to purchase the product from the supplier at the same price as the City of Boise.
