DCR 868 Mobile Soda Blasting Services

The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide periodic, mobile soda blasting services statewide. The vendor’s mobile system shall use compressed air to deliver a soda-based media, i.e. sodium bicarbonate, to strip paint and debris from surfaces without damaging the asset. Department assets will include buildings and facilities with interior and exterior wood and masonry walls; bridges; sidewalks; natural stone; stone walls; wood, cast iron, steel and aluminum structures and assets; equipment; site fixtures and other assets deemed appropriate. Key considerations include the vendor's ability to provide services outlined in the RFR, mobile soda-blasting equipment, apparatuses, and media that meet the specifications, pricing, level of service, and environmentally preferable products and practices. • The contract duration is expected to be 5 years, with an initial 3-year term and a 2-year renewal option. • The estimated value of the procurement is $105,000, approximately $15,000 per year. • Vendors must submit pricing for hourly rates, including all manpower, equipment, transportation costs, fuel, media, insurance, tools, equipment, and any other overhead required. • The DCR intends to evaluate bid responses from and award a contract to a SBPP-participating business that meets or exceeds the solicitation criteria. • The contract will be available for use by any Executive Agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
