The City of Wilmington is soliciting a single‑prime contractor to design, supply, install, test, and commission a new two‑wire irrigation system for the municipal golf course. The scope includes extensive HDPE and PVC piping, sprinkler heads, valves, low‑voltage wiring, central computer‑based control hardware, trenching, directional boring, site restoration, permits, and a comprehensive warranty. The contract requires a 14 % subcontracting goal for minority‑owned firms, performance and payment bonds equal to 100 % of the contract price, and a 5 % retainage on interim payments. Work must begin within 10–14 days of award and be completed within 120 calendar days, with liquidated damages of $1,000 per day for overruns.
• Supply & install ~70,000 lf of 2‑in HDPE pipe plus larger‑diameter mains, PVC laterals, and all associated fittings.
• Install 791 sprinkler swing joints, 337 full‑circle and 454 part‑circle 1½‑in sprinklers, control valves, wiring, and a PC‑based controller with remote IPAD operation.
• Provide full project management—including permitting, utility protection, trenching, back‑filling, sod restoration, testing, as‑built GPS documentation, and a 1‑year workmanship plus 5‑year material warranty.
