Description
The 2019 New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) issued a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) for Child Advocacy Development Grants focused on treatment and transportation services for children served by existing or planned Child Advocacy Centers (CACs). Up to $1.5 million in one‑time grant funding could be awarded to a maximum of 21 counties, with each county eligible for up to $200,000. Proposals had to address trauma‑focused treatment, transportation assistance (excluding vehicle purchase), and related staffing or consulting needs, all aligned with the National Children’s Alliance accreditation standards. A mandatory bidders conference was required, and the bid submission deadline was 8 Nov 2019. Four awardees were selected on 19 Dec 2019, each receiving a portion of the grant, with all funds required to be obligated by 30 June 2020.
• Funding limited to treatment, counseling, transportation aides, and related consulting – no capital vehicle purchases.
• Eligibility open to county governments, prosecutor’s offices, or nonprofit entities with a memorandum of understanding with a county prosecutor.
• Grants are one‑time, non‑renewable, and must be spent within a single fiscal year.
