How to Set Up Your Match Profile

Match is your company profile. Fill it in once and Search stops being a blank box: your feed surfaces the open bids that fit your business, and buyers get a profile they can find you through.

Match is your company profile in Bid Banana. To set it up, click Match in the navigation bar and choose Create your profile, then tell Bid Banana your industry, your services, the keywords you would search for and who is on your team. It takes under five minutes and it is included with an active subscription.

What Is Match?

Match is the part of Bid Banana Search that knows your company. A search box only knows what you type into it, which leaves you responsible for thinking of the right query, in the right words, every time. Match turns that around: once the platform knows what your business does, Search can match open bids to you instead of waiting for you to guess the phrasing.

It also works in the other direction. Your profile is something buyers can find, so agencies, primes and private companies can reach you rather than the other way round.

NOTE: Match was previously called Company Profile. If you have an older link or bookmark to the company profile page, it now takes you to Match.

How Do I Create My Match Profile?

  1. Sign in and click Match in the navigation bar, between Favorites and Blog.
  2. Click Create your profile.
  3. Enter what your company does: your industry, the services you provide, the keywords you would search for, and the territory you serve.
  4. Add the colleagues who work on bids with you, so everyone shares the same profile and feed.
  5. Save. Your feed begins matching open bids against the profile straight away, and keeps updating as new opportunities land.
NOTE: Match is included with every active Bid Banana subscription. There is no setup fee and nothing extra to buy.

What Should I Put in the Services and Keywords Fields?

These two fields do most of the work, so they are worth five extra minutes. Write them the way a procurement officer would describe the work in a scope of work, not the way your website sells it.

  • Write "janitorial and custodial services", not "facility care solutions".
  • Write "managed IT services", not "digital transformation partner".
  • Include the variations too. If agencies in your sector say both "waste management" and "environmental services", put both in.
💡 Tip: Open two or three solicitations you have bid on before and lift the exact phrases the agency used. Those are the best keywords you will find, and they are rarely the ones on your own marketing materials.

What Does Match Change About Search?

Your feed starts surfacing the open bids that match your industry, services and keywords, and refreshes as new ones are collected. It does not replace running searches — you will still want to search for specific things, and keywords and filters remain the precise tool. What Match changes is what you see on the days you don't go looking.

How Do Buyers Find Me?

A completed profile is public, which is the point of it. It presents your services, capabilities, certifications and target markets in one place you can also point people at directly.

  • Direct bid invitations: buyers actively looking for your capabilities can invite you to bid, and the invitation reaches your whole team rather than one inbox.
  • Vendor search (coming soon): agencies, primes and private companies will be able to search by industry, capability and location and find you. It is not live yet — which is the argument for building your profile now rather than later.

Your profile includes visibility controls, so you decide what appears publicly.

Review those as you build it out, particularly around contact details and business specifics.

How Do I Add My Team?

Go to Account Settings > Team, enter a colleague's email address and choose a role:

  • Member — full Search access, and can create and work on bids. Uses one paid seat.
  • Admin — everything a Member can do, plus inviting and removing teammates, changing roles, and editing the company profile, content library and brand kit. One paid seat.
  • Owner — everything an Admin can do, plus billing: seats, purchases and credit packs. One paid seat.
  • Viewer — free and unlimited, read-only, and does not include Search. Useful for colleagues who need to follow the work without running searches.
💡 Tip: Adding a seat beats sharing a login. Credential sharing isn't permitted under our Terms of Use, and a shared account means shared favorites and saved searches. Use Manage seats on the Team tab, or see how to change your plan.

Should I Use Match or Saved Searches?

Both, and they do different jobs. Match gives you a standing view of what fits your company generally, without you having to ask. A saved search gives you a daily email about one specific thing you are hunting. Use the profile for breadth and saved searches for the pursuits that matter most.

If your feed still is not surfacing the right work after a week, revisit the services and keywords fields first — vague or marketing-led wording is almost always the cause. If it still looks wrong after that, contact support and we will take a look.

Frequently asked questions

What is Match on Bid Banana?
Match is your company profile. It tells Bid Banana what your business does so Search can surface the open bids that fit you, and it gives buyers a public profile they can find you through and send bid invitations to. It is part of Bid Banana Search rather than a separate product.
Does Bid Banana Match cost extra?
No. Match is included with every active Bid Banana subscription, with no setup fee. It is not a separate product to buy.
How long does it take to set up a Bid Banana Match profile?
Under five minutes for the essentials — industry, services, keywords, territory and team. You can come back and sharpen it whenever you notice your feed drifting away from the work you actually want.
Do I have to set up Match to use Bid Banana Search?
No. Search works fully without a profile. Match makes your results more relevant and makes your company findable by buyers, but it is optional.
What happened to Bid Banana Company Profile?
It is called Match now and has its own tab in the navigation bar. Same idea, expanded — as well as personalising your feed, it gives buyers a profile they can find and invite you through. Older company profile links redirect to Match.
Can everyone on my team see the same Match feed?
Yes. One profile serves the whole team, so everyone sees the same matched opportunities and bid invitations reach the team rather than a single person. Note that Viewers are read-only and do not include Search access.
My Match feed is not showing relevant bids. What should I change?
Start with the services and keywords fields — vague or marketing-led wording is the usual cause. Add the specific phrases agencies use for your work, include their variations, and check your territory covers the states you actually serve. If it still looks wrong, contact Bid Banana support.
