Call for Artist: Malden Center Portable Light Installation

The City of Malden Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development (OSPCD) is seeking an artist or team of artists to design and produce a portable light installation piece to celebrate Malden's rich cultural diversity and stimulate community connection with Malden's new Public Art Strategy. The piece must be portable and require only one outlet connection. The artist will be awarded a total of $15,000 to cover supplies, artist fees, liability insurance, and all project costs. • The project will be completed between May-June 2026. • The artist must demonstrate experience creating light installations of similar dimensions and working with community input. • The artist must provide a project concept, budget, and timeline. • The City will provide coordination and project management support as needed.
