Valve Maintenance, Related Services & Supplies Contract

The City of Ames is seeking bids from qualified vendors for a Service Contract for maintenance, repair, and replacement of valves and related services and supplies for the Ames Electric Services Power Plant. The contract will be for a period of one year, with the option to renew for four one-year extensions. The successful bidder will be required to provide labor, equipment, materials, and other components necessary for on-site services. The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. • The scope of work includes disassembly, repair, and reassembly of valves, installation of new valves, rebuild, pack, or install gate, globe, and check valves, and electronic valve testing. • The contractor shall provide emergency response within six hours of notification and maintain an office and warehouse to provide equipment support for plant work. • The contractor shall provide dedicated pickup and delivery service and demonstrate the ability to respond with labor, tools, and equipment on an emergency basis. • The City of Ames has a budgeted amount of work for FY26/27 of $45,000, but this does not commit the City to purchase a specific amount each year.
