Description
DeSoto County is seeking a qualified professional engineering firm to provide full design services for two LAP‑funded sidewalk projects: one on SE Maple Drive and another on SW Kingsway Circle. The scope includes topographic and right‑of‑way surveys, geotechnical investigations, ADA‑compliant sidewalk and crosswalk design, drainage modifications, utility coordination, permitting, and preparation of complete construction documents (plans, specifications, cost estimates). The firm must deliver staged design phases (30%, 60%, 90%, 100% and final) and respond to agency and FDOT review comments. Sub‑consultants for surveying, geotech, and environmental certification may be used.
• Design budget: $115,000 (Maple) + $70,000 (Kingsway) = $185,000 total.
• Deliverables: survey data, geotech report, preliminary cost analysis, design packages at 30/60/90/100 % and final sealed documents, eight hard copies, and all required permits.
• Schedule: RFQ release June 2026, responses due July 2026, contract award August 2026, design to be completed within one year from notice to proceed.
