Reburial Services for Excavated Human Remains

The City of Indianapolis is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive reburial services for human remains uncovered during excavation activities. The scope includes handling approximately 533 partial remains and isolated elements, placing each in individual containers (e.g., small cardboard boxes or muslin bags), and allowing multiple containers to be consolidated within a single vault or burial container. The City’s Community Advisory Group will review and approve the final reburial plan, and vendors are encouraged to propose innovative containment and vault‑placement solutions. • Manage and transport partial human remains with dignity and compliance with health/safety regulations. • Provide containerization (individual boxes, muslin bags) and coordinate placement into vaults as directed by the Community Advisory Group. • Submit a technical approach that outlines handling methods, container types, and any value‑added ideas for vault utilization. • Acknowledge receipt of Addendum #1 and incorporate its guidance into the proposal.
