Description

Ben Franklin Transit (BFT) is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide in-person, instructor-led safety and de-escalation training for frontline public transit operators. The purpose of this procurement is to enhance operator safety, reduce workplace violence risk, and improve operator preparedness for high-risk incidents occurring within public transit environments. The training should include two consecutive days of in-person training, with the first day focusing on transit operator personal safety and threat response, and the second day focusing on verbal de-escalation and tactical communication. The selected contractor will be required to provide all instructional materials and ensure that all instructors meet the minimum qualifications specified in the RFP. Some key points to consider: • The training should be specifically designed for public transit operations and incorporate real-world transit scenarios. • The contractor should have experience providing similar training to public transit agencies. • The contractor should be able to provide a detailed and itemized cost proposal. • The contractor should be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the scope of work and the requirements of the RFP.
