The Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Department of Corrections is seeking a qualified architectural/engineering firm to provide full design services for the replacement of the existing kitchen heating system and installation of a new direct‑expansion HVAC system at the Blackburn Correctional Complex kitchen in Lexington. The scope includes site investigation, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, cost estimating, bidding assistance, permitting coordination, and construction administration, covering architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines. The project will be delivered via a traditional Design‑Bid‑Build method with an overall design and construction budget of $1,000,000.
• Provide complete A/E design for a new kitchen HVAC system (heating & cooling) replacing steam heat.
• Deliver all phases: investigation, schematic, design development, construction documents, cost estimating, bidding support, permitting, and construction administration.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural modifications, including utility upgrades and controls integration.
• Submit proposals electronically via Kentucky’s eProcurement system by 1:30 PM ET on 7 Oct 2026.
• Shortlist meeting (virtual) on 22 Oct 2026; interviews (virtual) on 5 Nov 2026.
• Must include Kentucky‑registered architects/engineers and provide three similar project references.
