Description:
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is seeking a qualified auctioneer to manage the public auction of seized equipment and motor vehicles. The contractor must supply the auction venue, advertise each sale, conduct live in‑person auctions (with concurrent live‑internet bidding), provide all necessary staffing and equipment, handle inspection logistics, collect proceeds, and remit net sale amounts to ALEA. Compensation is commission‑based, with the vendor proposing a percentage of gross sales and an optional buyer’s premium. • Must be a licensed Alabama motor‑vehicle dealer **and** a licensed auctioneer with ≥ 3 years experience. • Provide venue, portable trailer with ≥ 4 checkout stations, live‑audio feed, on‑site staff (auctioneer, ringmen, ramp coordinator, etc.), and a real‑time internet bidding platform with photos and audio. • Handle advertising (minimum two‑week newspaper ads, brochures, bulletin‑board postings) and all post‑auction logistics (item removal, unclaimed‑property storage). • Submit detailed itemized accounting after each auction and remit net proceeds via certified check within 10 business days. • Contract term is 1 year with up to four optional one‑year renewals; no guaranteed auction frequency.
