Description
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking a qualified vendor to replace two aging UPS units at the MBTA Police Station (240 Southampton Street, Boston) and provide a five‑year maintenance and repair service. The work includes full removal of existing UPS equipment, installation of two new 50 kVA parallel‑redundant UPS modules, associated battery cabinets, bypass systems, and integration of an alarm‑messaging system. The contractor must also supply two rugged laptops for UPS interface training, handle all shipping/handling, and meet extensive insurance, bonding, and prevailing‑wage requirements.
• Replace two existing UPS units (≈30 kVA & 50 kVA) with two new 50 kVA parallel‑redundant units without power interruption.
• Provide installation, testing, commissioning, and a 5‑year service agreement including 24 × 7 × 365 emergency response (4‑hour on‑site arrival).
• Deliver required documentation (insurance, bonds, prevailing‑wage compliance) and maintain weekly payroll reporting; all work must comply with MBTA safety and security standards.
