Description:
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is seeking vendors to provide specialized equipment, parts, and services for its transportation and roadway telecommunications, intelligent traffic systems (ITS), and integrated project control systems (IPCS). The contract will be for an initial duration of up to 5 years, with two options to renew for up to 3 years each, for a total maximum contract duration of up to 11 years. Vendors must provide equipment, parts, and services for the systems in place, as well as replacement systems potentially needed in future years. The estimated value of the contract is $3.25 million over the life of the potential award, including renewals. Key considerations include: • Equipment needs and services, including telecommunications/ITS/IPCS equipment parts, operating supplies, and maintenance and repair of equipment • Consulting and design services, including telecommunications engineering and consulting services, ITS engineering and consulting services, and IPCS engineering and consulting services • Vendor must provide a Vendor Account Manager to oversee contract performance and respond to MassDOT inquiries in a timely manner • Vendors must maintain insurance coverage, including commercial general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation, and umbrella insurance • Vendors must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and MassDOT policies and procedures. Some key points to consider are: • MassDOT operates a wide array of transportation systems throughout the Commonwealth, many of which are integrated with Federal and neighboring states • The department seeks to place pre-qualified vendors under Master Service Agreement contracts to supply equipment, parts, and services for the systems in place as well as replacement systems potentially needed in future years • The contract will be executed for an initial duration of up to 5 years, with two options to renew for up to 3 years each, for a total maximum contract duration of up to 11 years • The estimated value of the contract is $3.25 million over the life of the potential award, including renewals • MassDOT makes no guarantee that any commodities or services will be purchased from any contract resulting from this RFR.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$1,000,000 – $5,000,000

The estimated value of the contract is $3.25 million over the life of the potential award, including renewals. However, this is just an estimate, and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the specific services and equipment provided. The budget could also be influenced by factors such as the number of vendors selected, the scope of work, and the duration of the contract. A reasonable estimate for the budget could be between $1 million and $5 million, considering the estimated value and potential variations in the scope of work.
