RFP: Defined Contribution Investment-Fiduciary Consultant

The County of San Mateo is seeking a consultant to provide investment and fiduciary services for its defined contribution retirement plans. The consultant will be responsible for monitoring and updating the plans' investment options, providing fiduciary education and guidance to the County's retirement committee, and advising on fees and other plan-related matters. The contract will have a term of five years. • The County has approximately $982 million in defined contribution plan assets and 15,307 participants. • The consultant will be expected to provide regular legislative and regulatory updates, develop and review the Investment Policy Statement, and monitor and report on all fees associated with the plans. • The County is seeking a consultant with experience in providing similar services to public sector retirement plans, particularly those with similar asset sizes and participant counts. • The consultant will be evaluated based on their project approach, firm qualifications, team qualifications, and price.
