Construction Observation Services

The City of Wheaton is seeking professional engineering services to provide temporary engineering support to monitor, enforce, and address resident concerns as contractors install fiber duct throughout the city. The scope of services includes monitoring contractor work, verifying proper installation of communication ducts, documenting progress, coordinating with utility companies and City staff, and responding to residents' concerns. The City is looking for a vendor with prior experience serving municipalities and the ability to provide on-site representation during construction. • The vendor must be located within 50 miles of the City of Wheaton. • The vendor must have prior experience serving a minimum of three municipalities within the last five years. • The vendor must be in compliance with the City's requirements for insurance. • The vendor must provide daily/weekly inspection reports, permit compliance checklists, and issue tracking and resolution logs. • The vendor must perform erosion control inspections for compliance with permit terms and conditions.
