Wood Pole Inspection, Treatment, Repair, and UAV Inspection Services

The City of Pasadena Water & Power (PWP) is soliciting qualified firms to perform comprehensive wood‑pole services for its 11,000‑pole electric distribution system. The scope includes visual, intrusive and ground‑line inspections, preservative and fumigant treatments, minor corrective repairs, reinforcement recommendations, installation of approved repair materials, and detailed electronic reporting. The contract also requires UAV/drone inspections to capture high‑resolution imagery of pole‑top conditions and hard‑to‑reach locations, performed by FAA‑certified pilots. All labor, equipment, permits, safety measures, and data‑management tools must be provided by the contractor. • Conduct visual, intrusive, and ground‑line inspections of ~11,000 wood poles. • Identify structural damage, decay, General Order 95 infractions, and other safety issues. • Apply preservative/fumigant treatments and install visibility strips, guy guards, ground molding, pole tags, and steel truss reinforcement where approved. • Perform UAV inspections for pole‑top documentation and GIS‑compatible data capture. • Deliver detailed inspection records, photographs, condition ratings, repair recommendations, and electronic data in PWP‑approved formats. • Provide all supervision, labor, equipment, transportation, safety compliance, and incidentals required to complete the work.
