The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) is seeking information from potential suppliers regarding customizable jackets for Non-Human Primates (NHPs). These jackets will be used during studies involving various NHP species and must meet stringent requirements for animal welfare, research integrity, and regulatory compliance. The jackets must be adaptable to NHPs of varying ages, species, and weights, and must be constructed from durable, NHP-safe materials and fabrics. The following are the essential criteria for the jackets:
• Sizing and Fit: Adaptable to NHPs of varying ages, species, and weights used at USAMRIID, including rhesus macaques, cynomolgus macaques, African green monkeys, and common marmosets.
• Materials and Construction: Constructed from durable, NHP-safe materials and fabrics with reinforced seams that prevent self-injurious behavior, provide a protective barrier for telemetry implants and catheters, and comply with the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, 8th Ed., 2011 and all relevant government regulations.
The following are optional features:
• Customizable fit, features, and fabrics to meet specific protocol requirements for functionality, enhanced durability, or improved animal comfort.
• Compatibility with telemetry and tethering systems.
• Inclusion of customization and development costs, as well as prototype jackets, in the unit price or available upon request.
Interested parties are requested to submit a Capabilities Statement of no more than ten (10) pages in length.
