Description

The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is seeking collaboration to further develop and commercialize materials suitable for dry reforming, bi-reforming, and steam reforming applications to convert mixtures of CO2, natural gas, and water into tunable syngas compositions. The desired catalyst materials should be precious-metal free, have high thermal stability, and be able to produce tunable syngas ratios. The potential applications of this technology include industrial and specialty chemicals production, as well as synthetic aviation and transportation fuels. • The catalyst materials should be able to withstand high reaction temperatures and resist deactivation. • The materials should be able to produce tunable syngas ratios and be structured into form factors to suit the user's specific reactor type, process conditions, and target product. • The catalyst should be easily regenerated by calcining in air if necessary. • The technology should be able to expand access to domestic feedstocks and provide a drop-in replacement feedstock for existing applications.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide specific information on the funding amount or the scope of the project. However, based on the fact that NETL is seeking collaboration for the development and commercialization of a new technology, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $500,000 to $5 million. This estimate is based on the assumption that the project will require significant research and development efforts, as well as testing and validation of the catalyst materials. The actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the specific requirements of the project and the level of funding available.
