Hay and Straw for Kentucky Horse Park

The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking bids for the supply of hay and straw for the Kentucky Horse Park. The solicitation includes five line items: Baled Straw, Baled Hay - Orchard Grass / Alfalfa, Baled Hay - Timothy Grass / Alfalfa, Baled Hay - Timothy Grass / Orchard Grass, and Baled Hay - Western Straight Alfalfa. The hay and straw must meet specific quality standards and be delivered within 7 days of order. Deliveries may require additional labor and equipment for unloading and placement. • The Baled Straw must be clean, bright straw, and free from foreign matter, excessive seed heads, weeds, and dust and mold. • The Baled Hay - Orchard Grass / Alfalfa must be of a specific average ration and free from fescue and foxtail. • The Baled Hay - Timothy Grass / Alfalfa must have an Alfalfa percentage not exceeding 40%. • The Baled Hay - Timothy Grass / Orchard Grass must be a mixture with grass mixtures averaging 50% each. • The Baled Hay - Western Straight Alfalfa must be in pure form and available on a limited basis.
