Description

The State University of New York at Stony Brook is seeking a qualified contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and related services needed to design and install a storm‑trap drainage system and associated piping to mitigate flooding on the university’s stadium parking lot. The contract will be awarded on a sealed‑bid basis to the lowest responsible bidder that meets all mandatory requirements, including prevailing‑wage compliance, OSHA 10‑hour certification, and numerous NY‑state and university-specific certifications. The work must be delivered FOB destination, with the contractor responsible for site preparation, installation, testing, debris removal, and compliance with recycling and environmental statutes. • Scope includes design, supply, and installation of storm‑drain traps, pipes, and related infrastructure for campus drainage improvement. • Mandatory pre‑bid conference on April 2 2026; all questions due by April 13 2026 on the Q&A board. • Contract term up to 500 days after notice to proceed, subject to approval by the NY Attorney General and Office of the State Comptroller.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

Based on comparable university stadium drainage projects, a mid‑size campus drainage system typically ranges from $0.5 million to $2 million in total contract value. Factors influencing the estimate include the extent of existing infrastructure, material specifications, labor rates (prevailing‑wage compliance), and the requirement for OSHA‑certified workers. Therefore, a realistic budget range for the successful bidder is approximately $500,000 to $2,000,000.
