Evaluation of Electric Vehicle Failures Impact on Hazardous Transportation Safety

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to gather input from interested parties regarding the continuation of ongoing mission critical services related to hazardous materials safety. The RFI is for market research and planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), Invitation for Bid (IFB), or Request for Quote (RFQ). The objective of this RFI is to gather information from experienced organizations with demonstrated capabilities in advanced computational and thermal modeling, fire dynamics and emissions data collection, hazmat packaging failure analysis, and full-scale EV battery burn testing. • The RFI is seeking information on company capabilities, past performance examples, and certifications/classifications. • The RFI is focused on gathering insights to inform future strategies in Research and Development. • The topics of interest include advanced computational and thermal modeling, fire dynamics and emissions data collection, hazmat packaging failure analysis, and full-scale EV battery burn testing. • The page limit for responses is 10 pages excluding the cover page.
