Design Services for Student Lounge Space

Laramie County Community College is seeking proposals from qualified architectural firms to provide design services for the renovation of an existing Student Lounge. The primary goal of this project is to transform the space through high-impact interior improvements that foster social interaction, recreation, and community-building. The selected firm will be expected to create a cohesive, engaging environment that supports flexible use and encourages student connection. Key elements of the project include flooring, interior finishes and paint, furniture and layout, lighting design, audio-visual and technology integration, and electrical and power accessibility. The project requires a firm to submit a proposal that includes firm qualifications, design approach, project team composition, references, and a proposed fee structure. Some of the key requirements of the project include: • Create a welcoming, energetic, social environment • Support informal gathering, recreation, and community engagement • Provide flexibility to accommodate varying group sizes and activities • Utilize durable, low-maintenance materials suitable for heavy daily use • Develop a cohesive interior color and finish palette that adds warmth, energy, and visual interest • Incorporate accent walls and graphic elements • Specify furniture that encourages social interaction and casual gathering • Design and specify an audiovisual system suitable for group viewing and community engagement • Increase access to electrical outlets throughout the lounge • Support device charging, gaming, and flexible student use
