Probation Department Annual Training Curriculum Services

The San Mateo County Probation Department is seeking qualified vendors to provide annual, standards-compliant training services for approximately 220-250 Sworn and Non-Sworn probation staff across adult, juvenile, and institutions, and administrative divisions. The training program should ensure all staff meet annual certification requirements, enhance officer safety and field readiness, maintain legal and procedural compliance, and incorporate modern training methodologies. The contract term is up to three years with an option to extend for an additional two years. • The training program should cover various topics, including safety, liability and risk management, behavioral health and crisis response, equity, bias, and professional awareness, field operations and supervision practices, evidence-based practices and assessment tools, investigations and special populations, leadership and organizational development, and officer wellness and resilience. • The vendor should have experience in providing similar training services to probation or law enforcement agencies of similar size. • The vendor should be Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) certified by the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) or have the ability to become STC certified. • The vendor should provide a comprehensive, scalable, and compliant training program that meets the needs of the Probation Department.
