Description

The Narragansett Bay Commission seeks a qualified firm to perform a comprehensive Arc‑Flash Study Update across all NBC facilities, delivering updated reports, safety labels, and related documentation in compliance with NFPA 70E 2024, IEEE Std 1584, and NEC §110. The effort includes data collection, SKM modeling, short‑circuit and coordination analysis, and on‑site installation of new hazard labels. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with the bid opening scheduled for early August 2026. • Scope covers dozens of municipal water‑treatment, pump‑station, and wind‑turbine sites, requiring both updates to existing studies and new studies where none exist. • Deliverables include detailed arc‑flash reports, revised one‑line diagrams, incident‑energy tables, PPE recommendations, and physical label installation by a qualified technician. • Vendor must provide certified electrical engineers (≥5 years experience), maintain required insurance, submit de‑barment certifications, and adhere to OSHA, NFPA 70E, and state prevailing‑wage rules.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

Based on comparable municipal arc‑flash studies for multiple facilities (often ranging from $150k to $600k depending on site count and complexity), a reasonable ballpark for this 45‑plus‑site effort is $200,000‑$500,000. The estimate assumes the vendor will provide all engineering labor, software licensing (SKM), report production, and label installation, plus required insurance and administrative overhead.
