SPECIFIC STOP LOSS INSURANCE

The City of Tucson is seeking a provider of specific stop loss insurance for its 4,508 covered employees and retirees. The selected provider will be expected to offer individual specific stop loss coverage with a $1.1 million deductible, as well as other services such as monthly reporting and plan provisions. The City is looking for a provider that can offer a no-laser option and no-laser renewal option, as well as a preliminary renewal option 120 days in advance. The contract will be for a period of one year, with the option to extend for up to four additional years. Some key aspects of the job include: • Individual specific stop loss coverage with a $1.1 million deductible • Alternate stop loss deductibles of $1.25 and $1.5 million • Coverage for medical and prescription drug benefits • No-laser option and no-laser renewal option • Preliminary renewal option 120 days in advance • Monthly reporting and plan provisions • Ability to provide advanced funding or a similar program • Financial strength rating of BBB or higher from S&P or similar agency
