Processing & Marketing of Recyclable Materials

Metro seeks a qualified contractor to process and market the city’s recyclable materials collected from curbside single‑stream recycling and from seven drop‑off sites plus four convenience centers. The contractor must have 24/7 material‑acceptance capability, maintain all necessary permits, and provide monthly reporting on tonnage, contamination, and end‑market destinations. The contract is for an initial five‑year term with two optional five‑year extensions, and includes a minimum 10 % Small Business/Service‑Disabled Veteran participation requirement. • Process mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, plastics #1, #2, #5, metals, and mixed glass from both curbside and source‑separated programs. • Provide marketing of recyclables to diversified end‑markets using a mutually‑agreed index with monthly price adjustments. • Deliver detailed monthly reports on volume, contamination rates, and destination, and support Metro’s public‑education outreach.
