Description

The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is offering the Farm & Ranch Solid Waste Cleanup and Abatement Grant (FR93) to fund the removal and prevention of illegal dumping on farm and ranch properties. Eligible applicants are public agencies and tribal governments, and projects may include multiple sites. Funding is provided as reimbursement, with a maximum of $200,000 per applicant per fiscal year and $50,000 per individual cleanup site. Grantees have approximately two years (not‑to‑exceed April 4, 2029) to complete the work. Applications are due by January 6, 2027, and the award announcement is expected in April 2027. A Letter of Intent is required; no matching funds are needed. • Eligible applicants: public agencies, tribal governments (cities, counties, resource conservation districts, federally recognized tribes) • Eligible sites: any farm or ranch land defined under CCR §17991(d) – private or public, active or inactive, properly zoned • Funding limits: up to $200K per applicant FY 26‑27; $50K max per cleanup site • Funding method: reimbursement of eligible costs (admin, recycling/disposal, equipment, materials, personnel, security, outreach) • Project period: up to ~2 years (NTP‑April 4, 2029) • Application deadline: 1 Jan 2027 (midnight) • Required: Letter of Intent; no match required • Contact: Mai Andrews (916) 341‑6215, [email protected]

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The grant caps funding at $200,000 per applicant for the FY 26‑27 cycle, with a $50,000 maximum per individual cleanup site. Because applicants can submit multiple sites within one application, the total award could range from a single $50K site up to the full $200K ceiling if several sites are funded. Therefore, a realistic budget estimate spans $50,000 (minimum viable award) to $200,000 (maximum allowable per applicant).
