The City of San Diego is seeking a contractor to provide as‑needed mobile electric‑vehicle (EV) charging solutions that can be deployed on a temporary or permanent basis across a variety of city locations. The contractor may supply the equipment for purchase, lease, or subscription and must meet stringent technical, safety, and renewable‑energy criteria. The contract is a five‑year fixed‑price agreement (with possible extensions) valued up to $3 million, and the City will evaluate proposals on technical merit, alignment with use‑case scenarios, past performance, and price.
• Provide tow‑able EV charging units (minimum 2 ports, ≥19 kW each) with L2 and DC fast‑charge options, compliant with SAE J1772, CCS/NACS, ISO 15118, and UL 2594/2202.
• Units must operate on 100 % renewable energy, be off‑grid for at least 4 hours, withstand 115 °F ambient temperature and 120 mph wind, and include remote monitoring, load management, and ADA‑compliant interfaces.
• Contractor must deliver, install, maintain, and support the equipment for the contract term, provide detailed specifications, past deployment evidence, and align solutions with the City’s Climate Action Plan.
• Evaluation will consider responsiveness, technical fit, operational/maintenance plan, past performance, and the lowest total price; a mandatory demonstration is required for proposals within 10 points of the top score.
